Another year over......
And a new one just begun. I'm sure we have all heard those words at some time over the festive season. 2007 started with a bang here in Melbourne with a great fireworks show along the Yarra. With an estimated crowd of 500,000 in the city to watch it was an awesome sight. A slow walk to the Casino saw us share our first drink for 2007 with Bett & BB who were visiting from Perth.
The week before had been a week of surprises starting with the surprise arrival of Gareth 2 days before Christmas. I was expecting him on Boxing Day. It was great to see him but I don't think he'll see me speechless again.
The next surprise was the following morning with the demise of our hot water system - great timing. Thank goodness for hot showers downstairs in the gym. That was fixed after christmas and our next surprise was the kitchen tap that would not turn off. Could anything else happen we aksed ourselves. Still another visit from another plumber on Friday saw all the waterworks OK, hot showers all round and smiling plumbers. Still amid all this mayhem we managed to have a great Christmas with family and friends.
I think my final surprise has happened today with a phone call from Marg O telling me she was on a train heading into the city. Half an hour later we were drinking tea (yes Tea) in the lounge. It was great to see her again and a very pleasant surprise.
After a very busy Christmas & New Year I have had a quiet week at home resting the leg in readiness for a return to work on the 15th. Exercising in the pool is not a bad way to spend a hot day. Bill returned to work and is off to SA next week for his 1st trip of the year.
So I'll leave you all here until next time.........
