Last days in Darwin...........

Just 2 more days in Darwin and then it was time to return home to the 'big smoke'.  We had enjoyed our three days 'camping' in Adelaide River but today was set aside to catch up with Virginia.  It had been almost two years since we had seen her and since then Toby had turned 4 and a new little man had been born.  Beau was almost two years old and we had never met him.
Josie dropped me off in the morning and we had a few minutes to chat before her friend Vanessa arrived with Pippa, Ruby and Mia.  They were having some work done on their new home and had no power for the day.  Virginia had offered her place and the air conditioning for the day.  An absolute necessity in Darwin's 38 deg day.

And so began my day with five children under five!  Toby is 4 hrs old, Beau 22 moths,  Pippa 2 1/2 and the twins Ruby and Mia were just 7 months old.  I arrived thinking that I would not survive the day but actually enjoyed our time together and I'm sure Vanessa was thrilled to have three sets of arms to help with the twins.  They were gorgeous!
We had a swim in the morning before Toby had to leave for pre school and spent the afternoon in the air conditioning while the kids took turns in sleeping.  Greg arrived home just after Vanessa had left and Bill came with home to take me home for a short while before we all met again for dinner at the Sailing Boat Club with Nolan, Josie, Jamie lee, Kiara and a friend of hers.
It was a beautiful evening and we watched the sunset over Darwin harbour before enjoying a lovely dinner right on the beach. It was so good to see Jamie Lee and to meet little Kiara for the first time.  At 5 months old she has a gorgeous personality and certainly loves her great grandpa (GG) Nolan.
After a delicious dinner we said our goodbyes and look forward to seeing everyone again sooner rather than later.

The following morning Bill went off to work with Nolan and after a leisurely start to the morning Josie and I went to the shops. We took some time out for a coffee and a wander around before heading for home for a quiet afternoon in while I packed and got ready for the trip home.
Bill arrived mid afternoon and we had soon said our goodbyes and thanks before jumping in the car and driving back to the airport for our journey home.  Before too long we had touched down in Melbourne, had collect our luggage and were on our way home arriving at midnight.

The following morning Bill returned to work and I was up early as I had to catch the train to Clayton where I attended the Seniors Week Jazz concert with Mum at the RSL.  It was a great morning and Mum and I had lunch before I made my way home again where an early night was in order after our big weekend.

And so with just a few days until our next adventure it is time to say bye now, until next time.....
